Most of the summer they have been at other feeders, it has only been lately that they have started hovering around just one. Migration isn’t for another month or two. I have to refill this one three times a day, and the other ones are still full. I love these entertaining birds, so I am just curious why they do this.

I live in the country and love to throw sun flower seeds and thistle on the ground near my house to feed the birds. The DEM came to my door today and told me to stop. Only elevated bird/squirrel feeders within 100 feet of my house is allowed. They say deer may come and eat the seed and feeding wild deer is against the law. What can I do? HELP!

BIRDS 1 This sparrow landed just a couple of metres in front of me on the bird-feeder. She then proceeded to eat and flutter for a couple of minutes, and to look lovely. Now this is, I think, a house sparrow. and is the commonest birds living close to people. I read that the chirrupting by the male sparrow is the true song utterred by the nest. For more information then get some book about garden birds. Since making this film I have not seen another one on the bird feeder – so perhaps it is vanishing after all! If they do, how do they eat seeds and hard stuff like nuts and fruit?
I was making a bird feeder for my house and I was wondering what kinds of foods I would put in. I was thinking about my hamster’s food, (seeds and almonds, corn, pieces of papaya, pinto beans) But then I thought "Do they have teeth?" So that’s why I asked this question.
