American Goldfinch at thistle/nyjer feeder during the 2009-2010 Project feederwatch season. Project feederwatch is a winter-long survey of birds that visit feeders throughout North America. feederwatchers count the birds at their feeders from November through early April. The data help scientists track broadscale movements of winter bird populations and long-term trends in bird distribution and abundance.
