Do birds have teeth to eat their food?
June 26, 2010 Bird House Feeder
If they do, how do they eat seeds and hard stuff like nuts and fruit?
I was making a bird feeder for my house and I was wondering what kinds of foods I would put in. I was thinking about my hamster’s food, (seeds and almonds, corn, pieces of papaya, pinto beans) But then I thought "Do they have teeth?" So that’s why I asked this question.

Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.

No, birds do not hve any teeth. and you have every right to question how they break up the seed and nuts that they eat. the secret is in the beak. you will find that in most birds, their beak is lonk and thin, and the upper half has a downward curve. this aids by slightly cracking or breaking whatever they eat. once the food is swallowed it moves into a two chambered stomach. In the first chamber food is mixed with digestive enzymes, the second chamber is the gizzard functioning as a substitute for teeth.
be sure to fill your bird feeder up regularly, birds need alot of food for energy
hope i helped
No birds do not have teeth. Their food goes into the gizzard where it is ground up before digesting.
i studied this a while ago, bids get gravel in there mouth and grind up the food, nuts. ETC. because they don’t have teeth to chew the food with, then substitute teeth with the gravel
no the food goes into a gissard they do not need teeth they eat worms
nope
they have beaks, sharp ones haha
Birds don’t have teeth but only beaks.
They swallow the food directly without chewing.
