Do butterfly kits really work?

My mom LOVES outdoorsy stuff like bird feeders, bird baths, squirrel feeders, bird nests, etc. She has about 5 of everything already! I was looking up gifts for Mother’s Day and found a butterfly kit with house and nectar and instructions. I know she would love it but does it really work?

Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.

Absolutely they work. I had one a few years ago and I loved watching the little caterpillars grow up and cocoon into lovely painted lady butterflies. Mine wasn’t as cool, though because the nectar didn’t come with it. I had to mix up sugar water and give it to them.

They’re awesome! What a great Mother’s Day idea! Have her keep a camera handy. Once the butterflies find it and make it "home" she’ll get some gorgeous pictures!
