How can I raise a baby blue jay?

March 12, 2011 Bird House Feeder

There is a nest in front of my house, with five blue jay fledglings in it; the nest is too small and one keeps falling out/getting pushed out. I have hand-fed wild birds before, but eventually took them to a rescue. What temperature do the fledglings generally need?

Just keep putting it back, by the question it sounds like he fell out more than once, and was put back. The mother can raise it far better than you can.

May I suggest putting something soft under the nest incase it is push out again? Or put him in a box near the nest next time it falls and see if the mother cares for it. If not just put the baby back.
