Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.

Make bird calls every now and then.
It will take a while for the birds to find your feeders, but they will eventually. Your grandfather has probably been feeding them for years so generations of birds have figured out that he has food for them. Be patient, they’ll come, your grandpa is right.
As for the bluebirds, they don’t eat seed. You might be able to lure them by using mealworms on a tray, but they might not come either. Try setting out a couple of bluebird boxes, but it can take a long, long time for bluebirds to settle in your area. We tried for years before it worked.
