Strange Sound of the Goldfinch

This is a bit of an interesting video and I thought that I would share it with you.. While I was in the sitting room I heard this noise and I slowly watched it..It was a noise made by a Gold finch eating the thistle seeds… I was surprised.. So much of them visit my garden and this was the first time that I heard this noise…

@echoes707 You may have seen them, but yours are a different color to ours,. Yours are mainly yellow.
ITs not the birds I I think it is that they are trying to make the hole bigger to get at the seeds, as it is running low. Will be interssting to see if it makes the noise when the holes are full with seed. Love this biords so much

To me, it looks like when the bird sticks his beak in the hole he shakes his head and that makes his beak rattle the tubing. Interesting to say the least at how he is doing that..
