© DeadlyTeaParty Property Please join my nature page: www.facebook.com You’ll never guess what I came across today?? I CAME ACROSS A GOLDFINCH’S NEST; EVEN BETTER THE ACTUAL PAIR WERE MAKING IT!! I love these little birds; they are so bright and colourful; to be truthful I find it real had to get great videos of them!! Latin name Carduelis carduelis Family Finches (Fringillidae) Overview A highly coloured finch with a bright red face and yellow wing patch. Sociable, often breeding in loose colonies, they have a delightful liquid twittering song and call. Their long fine beaks allow them to extract otherwise inaccessible seeds from thistles and teasels. Increasingly they are visiting birdtables and feeders. In winter many UK goldfinches migrate as far south as Spain. Where to see them Anywhere there are scattered bushes and trees, rough ground with thistles and other seeding plants. Likes orchards, parks, gardens, heathland and commons. Less common in upland areas and most numerous in southern England. When to see them All year round. What they eat Seeds and insects in summer.

Design specifications: The house was designed to keep the birds off the ground in order to keep them away from the danger below. The chains (1 foot * 8 pieces total for top and bottom) on top of the bird house are designed to hold the bird house on top of the ceiling. The chains attach to the included “L” shaped brackets, which mount to the ceiling of your structure with eight screws. The 4 chains under the house are designed to attach additional small cages, pools, etc. ( Exterior design can be changed…) The house was built from natural wood, screws and washers as well as the rope and metal brackets. The roof of the house is covered with plastic for easy cleanup. The structure of the bird house is not made with any glue. Let your birds enjoy the freedom of your home!!!

This is a fairly easy project for making a birdfeeder from a plastic milk jug or juice bottle. This can be used toward Tiger elective 32, Wolf achievement 5e, Wolf elective 13, Bear achievement 5b, or the Webelos Craftsman activity pin (which could also be helpful for completing the Naturalist activity pin). To make this, you will need a plastic milk jug or juice bottle, a drill, a utility knife (or a hobby knife or good scissors), a hot glue gun, a 5/8″ dowel (approximately 12″ long, depending on the size of the jug or bottle), and waterproof rope. Optionally, you will need permanent markers or waterproof paints to decorate the birdfeeder once you are done. Please check out my blog at scouterjon.blogspot.com for more Scouting tips.

This is They Might Be Giants – Birdhouse in your soul. I do NOT own the rights to this song whatsoever, but screw this, I can upload this Film Clip if i want to. Don’t forget to buy their Album, Flood. Birdhouse in your soul was US Modern Rock #3, and #6 on the UK Singles Chart. Lyrics: I’m your only friend I’m not your only friend But I’m a little glowing friend But really I’m not actually your friend But I am Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch Who watches over you Make a little birdhouse in your soul Not to put too fine a point on it Say I’m the only bee in your bonnet Make a little birdhouse in your soul I have a secret to tell From my electrical well It’s a simple message and I’m leaving out the whistles and bells So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly My name is blue canary One note, spelled LITE My story’s infinite Like the Longines Symphonette It doesn’t rest Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch Who watches over you Make a little birdhouse in your soul Not to put too fine a point on it Say I’m the only bee in your bonnet Make a little birdhouse in your soul I’m your only friend I’m not your only friend But I’m a little glowing friend But really I’m not actually your friend But I am There’s a picture opposite me Of my primitive ancestry Which stood on rocky shores And kept the beaches shipwreck-free Though I respect that a lot I’d be fired if that were my job After killing Jason off And countless screaming Argonauts Bluebird of …
