I never thought that I would ever see a woodpecker come to my bird feeder .I have seen them in the neighborhood before but was shocked to see him land and feed from the feeder. He or she has been back a couple of times since this video but is very skittish,as soon as he sees any movement in the house or hears a noise inside he takes off.We also have Cardinals,Titmice,Sparrows,Nuthatches,Chickadees,Pine Warblers and Gold Finches as regular guests. Not to mention A couple of Hummingbirds that like to spy on me through the window .

I have two Mockingbirds that have decided our house and yard is their own domain. One stands guard at the feeders and the cardinals, finches and other birds aren’t able to come feed. I love the Mockingbirds and their songs but i also love the other birds. Give me an idea.

There’s more attracting birds than simply that constrain and home of the bird up posting a fence or depends on one out of a tree limbs. Species of birds that you can attract depends on the type of entering you choose, the location of your yard and type enter the feed ????? feeder.

Here are five categories of birds, might want to consider. They all come with their own unique colors, sound features.

1) goldfinches: birds are yellow in color, with the males being radiates more spring season are small, but … a shy by nature. You can use to sacks of thistle, they repositioned in the yard to a small “clinger” feeders only to different types of triple-tube feeders an inexpensive and easy. For the purpose of the length of this article, I will give you a resource can go and learn more about the different types of feeders. An important feeder type to the type of the birds you are trying to attract even more, but it is important is the type of entry you use to draw some species feeders.

Goldfinches are chopped fine partial sunflower hearts and Nyjer seeds; Nyjer seed is Africa-Asia black around the suggested that high oil content. Another source of nutrition in a strong attraction for Goldfinches occurs in the fall when the flowers and plants such as ????????????? ended their long Zinnias beautiful stages of summer. 2) cardinals: bird with pointed Crown Royal and color red black mask radiating cut off and the neck. If you ever saw Cardinal, you remember it. Her look not other birds, in my opinion the humble. If the green of the leaves in summer versus or white snow of winter, the Cardinals are a great attraction for each setting. Here’s how you can entice them to escape from your feeders one low they like on the ground or with a platform that can eat from when hung from above. This is the fact that they are larger and require a bird room to maneuver. They did not eat from the tube feeders, Goldfinches, unless you enter a tube tray at the bottom of them to perch a click. Their preferred feed is seeds of sunflower or safflower; Their large debt makes it easier for them to crack these seeds. The addition of a bird bath is another drawing for the Cardinal, they like water.

3) birds Blue: the blue bird nesting sites vary depending on your region of the country. For a particular zone to do a little research and determine the best type of nesting site to build these shiny blue colored to attract birds to your private retreat. They prefer areas are open so they feed on insects, their main source of nutrition. Another favorite of Bluebird meal worms live, so you may want to keep some on the other hand if this bird Yaffe is going to be added to your color meters surface. For the winter holiday Bluebirds on nutrition, coffee from Bittersweet-Holly. Again, the addition of a bird bath to provide a source of water, especially in winter, will wear Bluebird paradise in your back yard.

Wonderful tool in continued Orioles is oranges. Cut the few oranges in half to secure them back to the gate or fence and use them to bait your yard the Orioles.Another weak spot for Orioles gelatin dessert, they like gelatin dessert. you can go to your local bird and select the appropriate adapter over the edge of the jar gelatin dessert, Viola; You enter for Orioles hopes to draw in your back yard. Due to the fact that the Orioles are shy birds, start by setting the active areas away from feeders continue, and then slowly bring them, once you start to get their confidence. This will give you the pleasure of watching this bird Yaffe closely; I guess you say “the bird’s eye view”.I know, really bad, but I couldn’t resist.Note the Orioles you can leave the rope, wire strands of hair that they find and use when building a nest pendulum use season.Orange gelatin dessert and hosts who do not interfere with them, they love you.

5) woodpeckers: Last, but not least, this section of the colored birds next to and fully;Woodpeckers are colored with showy plumage bird.Described as clinger, because of its ability to draw on its feet and attach itself to the sides of trees no or little effort. have feathers tail cross, vagbil those tough, resting on a tree trunk, cost typically down a tree trunk scrounging for insects, it’s a good idea to hang the bird feeders for those close to the race start, to get their attention. after their attention, you can move it to another port on the feeder away from the trunk to the extremities.Tree nuts, peanuts is the secret to lure these birds to your collection a wild life that are offered.Be careful though, as soon as the Woodpecker on the tree starts its attack; he chose his can get noisy for a while to come.

Winter Birds Feeding

Posted by Filed Under Bird House Feeder with No Comments

Wendy has set up a couple bird feeders in the backyard. We get a wide variety of finches, nuthatch, cardinals, bluebirds, titmouse, and wrens all the time. This particular day we were graced by the presence of a wooly woodpecker. They don’t usually come out of the forest. A short time after this was taken a Red Shouldered Hawk came flying out of the woods. Luckily he didn’t fly off with any of our other feathered friends.

Back yard bird feeding?

Posted by Filed Under Bird House Feeder with No Comments

I have a few bird feeders in my back yard and I love feeding the birds, but I have so many doves. Is there any seed they won’t eat? Also, will red-winged blackbirds eat safflower seed? Another thing, how do I get the blue jays to come to the feeders? I have a wide variety of birds-red-bellied woodpeckers, downys, cardinals, goldfinches, hairys, sparrows, house finches, crackles, rose-breasted grosbeaks, and of course doves, but I can’t get blue jays! Any help would be appreciated.

Bird house for cardinals?

Posted by Filed Under Bird House Feeder with 5 Comments

I’m wanting to build a birdhouse specifically for cardinals. Anyone know what kind of house is best for them? Where can I find plans for one? I’ve found a lot of plans online for other birds, but not much for cardinals. Do they not prefer built houses?

There are wasps in my birdhouse that need removal!?

Posted by Filed Under Bird House Feeder with 4 Comments

In the winter we went to a garage sale where i bought a small, plain little cardinal birdhouse for a quarter. I painted it with small roses and the door hole with a green rim, sealed the outside, and when spring arrived, I hung it in the tree in our backyard. We have a pair of cardinals in our tree, but not the birdhouse, they sit on the feeder and sometimes the little stopper for them to stand on in front of the house, but they never went inside. Just yesterday, I got really frustrated and went out to look at the house because I wanted to know why the beautiful red birds are so repulsed. Inside, i found a wasp nest, and a fat queen laying eggs inside. I have a terrible fear of flying stingers, and taking the birdhouse apart is not an option. How can I take them out, kill them, and keep them out for good without taking the birdhouse apart and repulsing birds?
I’m looking for serious answers.
