what to do if you find a bird egg ?

okay so i found this bird nest in a bush in my backyard. and the next day there was a little white and reddish/brownish speckled egg in it.. Then about a week and a half later i realized the poor little egg had been abandoned by it parents. after that i checked on the egg everyday (not touching it) just to be sure it was still there. finally today i took the whole nest out (1.5 weeks later) and i have no idea how to take care of an egg.. im not even sure if there is still life.. but i wanna find out. and like how do i take care of it? who should i call ? ! oh. and i got it down to 2 kinds of birds that might have laid the egg.. either a House Wern or a Black something Chickadee. So if there is anyone who can tell me what to do. i would really appreciate it. Thank You.

On this nice sunny Mother’s Day morning, I happened to notice two Orioles trying to drink sugar water out of a hummingbird feeder outside our sliding glass patio door. This is extremely unusual as I have never seen an Oriole at ANY of our feeders before – nor have I ever observed any other bird than a hummingbird at the hummingbird feeder. I set the camera out and caught the pair making a couple of passes at the thing before they took off to parts unknown. In the second half of the clip, a red-bellied woodpecker gets tired of waiting for a male grosbeak to leave the feeder. He finally descends from the upper reaches of the tree and runs him off. It starts out with a stare-down, then a peck to make his point! [I've heard that red-heads do have a temper!] When the woodpecker leaves, a titmouse hurries in and makes a snatch and grab for a sunflower seed – then he’s outta there! It is early am on the first part and I’m sorry the lighting is poor. In any event, I hope you enjoy the clip.

Our newly moved in Black Capped Chickadees build their nest with moss. Started building it today and already looks very comfortable. Looking forward to see them breed and raise their chicks.

I made my mom go and buy a bird feeder for these chickadee’s that are outside all the time. There is about 10 of them and they use it! We live in the city but I don’t know if they live around where I live. How can I get them to like our house better? like get a bird bath or something? I want them to nest here. it’d be cool. :3 Also how can I get them used to us being around? I just want them to like it here I guess. o.o Any help? And if you have and extra information you can give please add ^^

Me Saving and Rescuing a Carolina Chickadee After a Window Collision – Bird Video 10

I saved and rescued a Carolina Chickadee Today. It was horrible to see and wonder if it was going to die or be fine. Luckily, it wasn’t fatally hurt and injured, thankfully. It hit the same window that the Tufted Titmouse hit a month or so earlier, and died with a seed still in his bill. Here is the full story: I was around the window with my binoculars when I heard the window collision. My cat was sleeping outside nearby. I rushed outside and saw it laying on the porch. You could see his little heart still beating and eyes moving and looking around. I was looking at it and it suddenly flew erratically and hit a few more things before falling again to the ground, this time in the dirt. My cat ran after it, but he overshot and didn’t even see where the Chickadee landed. Luckily, I did. I jumped down to the dirt where he fell, near the side of the house. He was laying on and next to a stepping stone on his side, slightly more toward the ground at about a 145 degree angle. I could see, again, his heart beating and eyes moving around. I was really worried this could be his last moments, but was hoping for the best. My cat comes back to where the bird and I am, so I rush to get the cat inside before anything happened. I didn’t want to cause him much more stress. After getting the cat inside, I ponder turning him upright onto the stepping stone with my fingers, but I end up picking up a nearby, thin stick from a bush and putting it softly on his back to turn him over. how do i get birds to eat out of my hand?

I have been putting out bird food in my back yard for almost a year now, I have recently started using my own bird calling. When I sing the song they start chirping and they fly to the next bush closest to my house, sometimes they fly away though, why? But now that they know my bird calling i want to start feeding them by hand, I am pretty sure they are some sort of chickadee. I have a few pigeons, it annoys me but i mean they want food as well, so I let them, the pigeons arent afraid to come close to me but the chickadees are, if I stay still then their ok, but if i do something, even if its blink, they fly away.
