Where are Blue headed Woodpeckers native too?

I have never seen a wood pecker near my house before not even at my old house.
i have seen a road runner but that was it along with the other wild birds.Christmas morning there was the blue headed woodpecker on the tree in the backyard. It didn’t stay long but it did peck the tree. Another wild bird I saw where I live was this bird with yellow wings and red along side it. i think the bird had a brown head. I tried lookig it up but never found it.

Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.
There is no such species as a "blue headed woodpecker".
Try visiting the library and take a look at woodpecker book or just bird books in general.
If not I suggest you ask this question again, but let us know what state you live in and if the bird with the yellow and red wings was a woodpecker or not.
Also I think it could help if you compared sizes, was the bird robin sized? blackbird sized? pigeon sized? or bigger?
